Thomas Luthi led the way after the first session of free practice for the Moto2 class at Jerez, posting a blistering lap early on that took the rest of the field most of the session to get close to. Luthi's advantage was 1.5 seconds for most of the 45-minute practice, with riders only closing the gap towards the end. Stefan Bradl took 2nd in the end, finishing ahead of Alex de Angelis and Simone Corsi.

Is there anything worse than being under a ton of stress? We have all felt it, whether at our jobs or dealing with family members. Whatever the case, how you handle stress determines how hard it is on you. Your racecar is not much different. Sometimes your vehicle will be under stress and you might not ever see or hear it, but your performance on the track will change greatly.

Thunderhill Raceway in Kyle, Texas, may owe its survival to one woman's passion for racing. Mary Ann Naumann rescued the track when it was in danger of closing so that her race series, Texas Super Racing Series (TSRS), would have a track to race on.

The weekly racer faces some very real challenges with fuel systems. These problems are manifest in trying to make a fuel system that was designed for passenger cars feed an engine living in a racing environment. Even slight modifications, such as improved airflow through the use of a larger carburetor, the addition of improved exhaust, and ignition systems will enable an engine that has very limited internal modifications to develop more power, have an expanded rpm range and, subsequently, a greater need for fuel to supply these even limited modifications.
