Brazil event cancelled

The definitive cancellation of the second FIM Indoor Enduro World Championship 2011 was announced today. The event was due to take place on 15th January in Brazil.

Following the hard-fought event in Genoa (Italy) on 27th November, and after the cancellation of the event forecast for Brazil, the next date for the FIM Indoor Enduro World Championship 2011 will be in Barcelona (Spain) on 6th February 2011.

There has been a change to the FIM Indoor Enduro World Championship 2011, approved by the FIM Assembly (International Motorcycling Federation) held in October in Macao (China), with the cancellation of the second event programmed for the competition, due to take place in Brazil on Saturday 15th January 2011.

In the end, the local organizer was not able to find sufficient support to guarantee the level of organization required for a World Championship of these characteristics. The race was due to be held in the tourist town of Itapema, in the Santa Caterina region in the south of the country.

Therefore the next date for the 2011 FIM Indoor Enduro World Championship will be held in the Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona (Spain) on Sunday 6th February 2011.

Following the opening event held in Genoa (Italy), the 2011 FIM Indoor Enduro World Championship is headed by the Finnish rider Mika Aloha (HM-Honda), with 51 points, followed by the Swedish rider Joakim Ljunggren (Husaberg) with 45 points and the Polish rider Taddy Blazusiak (KTM), the current champion, with 43. The Spanish rider Ivn Cervantes, one of the frontrunners for the title, was not able to win any points in Genoa due to an injury sustained during the training rounds.
